{"id":673,"date":"2015-03-03T08:39:03","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T13:39:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=673"},"modified":"2015-03-03T08:39:03","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T13:39:03","slug":"tuesday-march-3-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2015\/03\/03\/tuesday-march-3-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday, March 3, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Language Arts today the class discussed that some authors write stories in different dialects. \u00a0<em>Jeremiah&#8217;s Song<\/em> is set in Alabama and the narrator writes as he speaks; with a southern accent. \u00a0We looked at some examples of how this may sound by watching a few video clips from Forrest Gump. \u00a0I have added the clips to this blog post.<\/p>\n<p>The students were given time in class to finish reading the story and work in their literature circles on their projects. \u00a0Each circle was assigned a different component of story elements to identify in <em>Jeremiah&#8217;s Song.<\/em> \u00a0The students will be putting together a presentation to teach this element to their classmates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a great evening!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>-Ms. Traylor<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n<p>1.
