{"id":528,"date":"2014-12-01T09:34:27","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T14:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=528"},"modified":"2014-12-01T09:34:27","modified_gmt":"2014-12-01T14:34:27","slug":"monday-december-1-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2014\/12\/01\/monday-december-1-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday, December 1, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I would like to start off this post by saying that I cannot believe it is already December! \u00a0This school year is flying by! \u00a0My grades for second marking period are done and up to date. \u00a0I have submitted them for Report Cards that will be going out on Friday. \u00a0Today is the first day of the third marking period. \u00a0This marking we will be focusing on reading The Giver. \u00a0All students are expected to start bringing their books next Monday. \u00a0We will not finish reading the book before we leave for break. \u00a0We will continue when we return because the break is half way through the third marking period.<\/p>\n<p>Today in Language Arts the students reviewed what it means to peer edit. \u00a0We focused specifically at looking at ideas and organization. \u00a0Final Drafts of our Great Lakes Essay will be due on Friday. \u00a0We will continue to edit tomorrow and Wednesday. \u00a0The students are also preparing to debate about video games. \u00a0They wrote essays and researched this position. \u00a0We will be preparing for debate that we will be having later this week and we will use the information to help us prepare.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n<p>1. Read for 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>2. Edit Great Lakes Paper for Ideas and Organization<\/p>\n<p>3. Library Day Wednesday<\/p>\n<p>4. Vocab. Test Friday<\/p>\n<p>5.
