{"id":387,"date":"2014-09-29T15:38:30","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T19:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=387"},"modified":"2014-09-29T15:38:30","modified_gmt":"2014-09-29T19:38:30","slug":"monday-september-29-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2014\/09\/29\/monday-september-29-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday, September 29, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Language Arts today, we reviewed the elements of a story. \u00a0We discussed the difference between a protagonist and an antagonist. \u00a0We also reviewed setting, plot, and conflict in a story. \u00a0We will dig deeper into plot tomorrow. \u00a0We also continued to work on our personal narratives. \u00a0We talked about building a story up to the climax and how to explode that moment in our writing. \u00a0We discussed how our readers should feel when this moment comes in a story and what we can do as writers to make our stories appear this way. \u00a0The students were given time to work on this with their own rough drafts. \u00a0Lastly, we played a game to help us review some of our vocabulary words.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Announcements:<\/p>\n<p>1. All late work is due by this Thursday, October 2nd.<\/p>\n<p>2. Reading Logs are due on Thursday, October 2nd.<\/p>\n<p>3. Two Personal Narrative Rough Drafts are due on Tuesday, October 7th.<\/p>\n<p>4. Our Vocabulary Test will be Wednesday, October 8th.<\/p>\n<p>5.
