In Language Arts today the students continued to focus on creating a personal narrative. \u00a0We discussed the importance of sequential order when writing events. \u00a0We also discussed how the reader should feel before the climax \u00a0in a story comes. \u00a0The students will be expected to complete two rough drafts (unedited) by October 7th when we return from break. \u00a0If this is not done by next Thursday, it is homework over the break.<\/p>\n
Our first vocabulary test is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8th. \u00a0At this point, the student should have study materials in their interactive notebooks. \u00a0The words have also been posted to the blog. \u00a0We finished creating our study materials in class today.<\/p>\n
Lastly, we continued our work with elements of a story. \u00a0The students were given time to read a children’s book of their choice with a partner. \u00a0They then identified the elements of a story with that partner.<\/p>\n
The end of the first marking period is October 10th. \u00a0With the four day weekend coming up, this will be here before we know it. \u00a0Please make sure your child is getting their work completed. \u00a0I will not be accepting late work for this marking period after October 8th.<\/p>\n
Homework: One hour of Moby Max in the grammar section.<\/p>\n
