In Language Arts today the students spent time acting out scenes two, three, and four of The Prince and the Pauper. After they finished, we discussed traits of the characters we know so far.<\/p>\n

We also continued to work on writing by discussing and acronym we can use to help us remember brainstorming. This acronym is RACER. It stands for…<\/p>\n

  • R \u2013 Restate the question to create a topic sentence.<\/li>\n
  • A \u2013 Answer the question completely.<\/li>\n
  • C \u2013 Cite evidence from the text to support your answer.<\/li>\n
  • E \u2013 elaborate\/explain the evidence.<\/li>\n
  • R \u2013 restate the answer to create a closing sentence OR relate the answer to something in your own life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We will be using the strategy to help us with our non-fiction writing for the remainder of the school year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Many students have missing or incomplete assignments. Please be aware all late work is due THIS Friday. Remember, I will not be accepting more than three late assignments per student for the marking period.<\/p>\n
