After they finished, we discussed traits of the characters we know so far.<\/p>\n<p>We also continued to work on writing by discussing and acronym we can use to help us remember brainstorming. This acronym is RACER. It stands for&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"co8aDb gsrt\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"3\"><b>The\u00a0RACER Strategy:<\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"RqBzHd\">\n<ul class=\"i8Z77e\">\n<li class=\"TrT0Xe\">R \u2013 Restate the question to create a topic sentence.<\/li>\n<li class=\"TrT0Xe\">A \u2013 Answer the question completely.<\/li>\n<li class=\"TrT0Xe\">C \u2013 Cite evidence from the text to support your answer.<\/li>\n<li class=\"TrT0Xe\">E \u2013 elaborate\/explain the evidence.<\/li>\n<li class=\"TrT0Xe\">R \u2013 restate the answer to create a closing sentence OR relate the answer to something in your own life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will be using the strategy to help us with our non-fiction writing for the remainder of the school year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Many students have missing or incomplete assignments. Please be aware all late work is due THIS Friday.
