{"id":2739,"date":"2018-09-25T14:23:01","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T18:23:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=2739"},"modified":"2018-09-25T14:23:01","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T18:23:01","slug":"tuesday-september-25-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2018\/09\/25\/tuesday-september-25-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday, September 25, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today in Language Arts we focused on text features and applying what we have learned to a non-fiction text.\u00a0 The students were assigned an article on NewsELA.\u00a0 They practiced identifying the text features in the article and we discussed the importance of looking at text feature while we read for the added information they provide.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the students spent time reading the article.\u00a0 After they read, we went back and talked to the text while reading it a second time.\u00a0 The students will be assigned a NewsELA article biweekly.\u00a0 It will be their responsibility to hover for words they do not know, label the text features, read the article, and read it a second time while talking to the text.\u00a0 Then, they will need to take the quiz, identify the golden line in the article, and answer the constructed response question.\u00a0 They will be given two weeks to complete these tasks.\u00a0 Many students completed most of this today but they will be given more time to work on it in class tomorrow.
