Then, the students were given time to characterize Jonas from <em>The Giver.<\/em> They were asked to come up with traits that describe him and provide two pieces of textual evidence for each one. If they did not complete this by the end of class, it was assigned as homework.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great evening!<\/p>\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure you have read through chapter 7 of <em>The Giver<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have finished the Guided Questions through chapter 7 and updated your POA to match<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Word Meaning Chart&#8221;, &#8220;Job Chart&#8221;, and &#8220;Precision of Language Activity&#8221; should all be complete<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Milestones Chart&#8221; should be complete with the exception of <em>Full Adult<\/em> and <em>Ceremony of Release<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Characterization of Jonas Note Sheet should be complete<\/li>\n<li>3 Read Theory Quizzes due Friday<\/li>\n<li>One-Pagers Number 7 and 8 due Friday, June 8th<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Upcoming Events:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All library books must be returned by Thursday, May 24th<\/li>\n<li>We will be finishing the NWEA Reading Test <strong>tomorrow<\/strong> in class for students who have not yet completed the test<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Language Arts today the students spent time discussing the guided questions for chapters 6 and 7.\u00a0 We also added information to our Pyramid of Action summarizing events from chapters 6 and 7.
