In Language Arts today and yesterday the students spent time finishing the rough draft for the Character Analysis Essay and peer editing it.\u00a0 The final draft of the essay is due on Friday. They were given time in class today to type it and they will be given more time in class tomorrow.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow we will be watching The Prince and the Pauper<\/em> the movie with Cole and Dylan Sprouse from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody<\/em> and The Sweet Life on Deck<\/em>.\u00a0 It is a modernized version of the play we have been learning about in class.\u00a0 While watching, the students will be responsible for comparing and contrasting the movie to the play.<\/p>\n The novel we will be reading in Language Arts this year is The Giver<\/em>. We will be starting this novel in a few weeks.\u00a0 There are school copies available for students to borrow but the students are more than welcome to bring their own copy too.\u00a0 This way, they can take notes while they read. I will be placing a class order on Monday for students who would like to have their own copy.\u00a0 It costs $8 and this information was sent home with students yesterday.\u00a0 I have attached the note that was sent home to this blog post.<\/p>\n The students were also given the directions for One-Pagers 7 and 8 today.\u00a0 These are due on Friday, June 8th. Initially, they were due on Thursday, June 14th but the teachers must turn in report cards that day and I cannot get all of those assignments graded in three hours. I have attached the directions for these assignments to this blog post. The students have also been given permission for them to use The Giver<\/em> for One-Pager 8. They are not expected to read two books at the same time but they can if they want to.<\/p>\n Have a wonderful Wednesday!
