{"id":2300,"date":"2018-02-14T08:40:36","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T13:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=2300"},"modified":"2018-02-14T08:41:28","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T13:41:28","slug":"wednesday-february-14-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2018\/02\/14\/wednesday-february-14-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Wednesday, February 14, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In Language Arts yesterday and today the students have been learning about making a connection to a text.\u00a0 We discussed the three types of connections we can make while reading.\u00a0 Today we practiced making a connection to the story, &#8220;The Good Deed&#8221; after we read it in class.<\/p>\n<p>The students were also given the directions for One-Pager Number 5 in class today.\u00a0 There are a few changes to this one pager, instead of a favorite quote, the students are asked to give an example of figurative language and explain it.\u00a0 The CER response will focus on the mood and tone of the story this time. Don&#8217;t forget, graphic novels and comic books are no longer allowed to be used as a one-pager.
