{"id":207,"date":"2014-05-13T16:22:38","date_gmt":"2014-05-13T20:22:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=207"},"modified":"2014-05-13T16:22:38","modified_gmt":"2014-05-13T20:22:38","slug":"tuesday-may-13-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2014\/05\/13\/tuesday-may-13-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday, May 13, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today in Language Arts the students began our poetry unit. \u00a0We began by defining poetry and discussing its importance in small groups. \u00a0We also took a pre-test to determine what we know about poetry. \u00a0This will not be graded. \u00a0It is simply to help us see what we know and what we still need to learn. \u00a0The students also looked at a powerpoint about poetry terms. \u00a0We looked at some examples of these terms in song lyrics we are familiar with. \u00a0The powerpoint and youtube video with the song lyrics have been attached to this blog post.<\/p>\n<p>Homework: 1 hour on the vocabulary section of mobymax.com is due Thursday. \u00a0Students were assigned a poetry term to research with a partner. \u00a0Students were asked to find and bring a song to school that has an example of a poetic term in it. \u00a0This song must be school appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Journal Topic: \u00a0Tell me about the book you are currently reading.
