{"id":1673,"date":"2016-11-28T08:22:56","date_gmt":"2016-11-28T13:22:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/?p=1673"},"modified":"2016-11-28T08:22:56","modified_gmt":"2016-11-28T13:22:56","slug":"monday-november-28-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/2016\/11\/28\/monday-november-28-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday, November 28, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back!<\/p>\n<p>In Language Arts today the students were given their article of the week. \u00a0Today they focused on identifying and reading the text features to predict what the article is going to be about.<\/p>\n<p>The students also began to learn about story vocabulary. \u00a0At this point in the year, our primary focus will be learning about elements of a fictional story.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, the students spent time hovering for words they do not know in the story, <em>The School Play<\/em>. \u00a0We will be reading this story later on in the week.<\/p>\n<p>The end of the 2nd marking is this Friday. \u00a0All late work was due last Tuesday, November 22nd. \u00a0At this point, the only assignment I will be accepting is the argumentative essay. I have graded 4th hour&#8217;s essays and I will have the rest done by the end of the week. \u00a0I would encourage all families to check student\/parent connect to see where students are at in their classes for the marking. If families are concerned or have questions, please have a conversation with your child prior to emailing the teacher. \u00a0We are happy to help but at Bryant, we encourage the students to advocate for themselves. \u00a0This means being held accountable for their missing or late assignments. \u00a0This also builds responsibility and organization skills within the children.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great evening!<\/p>\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Read for 20 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back!
