This week we are finishing up our social studies unit. \u00a0An online study guide will be posted tomorrow. \u00a0We are also finishing up our math unit- the math study guide is going home tonight and is in your child’s backpack. \u00a0The math test is this Wednesday, the social studies test is this Thursday.<\/p>\n

Homework:<\/p>\n

  1. Study your math study guide. \u00a0The math test is Wednesday!<\/li>\n
  2. Complete a weekly spelling activity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A Student Progress Report is coming home this week covering social studies. \u00a0I have highlighted the missing information including your child’s current grade and if they are missing any assignments. \u00a0If they have missing assignments they must be completed and returned by Friday 3\/10\/17. \u00a0No exceptions. \u00a0If they have missing assignments the grade at the top will not include it and therefore will change- for the better or the worse (if they don’t turn it in).<\/p>\n

    Every parent MUST sign the progress report and return it tomorrow. \u00a0If it is not returned your child will call home until it is brought back to school. \u00a0The assignment descriptions are posted below so they you can make it up.<\/p>\n

    Schools-past and present assignment social studies<\/a><\/p>\n

    Timeline of personal Events- use the 2nd timeline with 9 events. \u00a0Each event must include a picture (a photo or you can draw it), a caption, and the year it happened.\u00a0https:\/\/squareheadteachers.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/blank-timeline-templates.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n

    Comparing the past and present<\/a>\u00a0We read “The Oxcart man” in school. \u00a0Students chose one thing to contrast between what happened in the past verses what happens in today’s world. \u00a0You can choose things such as “How people cook”, “How people travel”, “what clothes people wear” etc. \u00a0I have included notes from the book to help you.<\/p>\n

    ALSO a big THANK YOU for the parent volunteers we have had into our classroom to read so far. The children are loving it and are so excited to hear there family come in and read to their classmates. \u00a0If you have not signed up there are still slots available. \u00a0I have extra calendars if you need another one.<\/p>\n
