I cannot believe it is the middle of the week!  Before we start today&#8217;s activities, here are some announcements&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Personal Phone Calls for Tomorrow, Thursday, June 4, 2020<br><\/strong>Mrs. Askar and I will be calling families who scheduled a Thursday phone call tomorrow from 12:00-3:00 PM. We will be calling from a blocked phone number, so please do not be alarmed. If you miss our call, we will leave a message on your voicemail.<br>Tomorrow, we will be discussing the Kindergarten\/Young 5\u2019s transition PowerPoint I sent on Friday. Today, encourage your child to practice writing their capital (upper case) and lower case letters.  Here are some ideas as to how they can practice writing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shaving Cream and Q-tips<br><\/strong>Writing in shaving cream is a great way to encourage your child to write because it is fun and attention-grabbing!  All you need for this is shaving cream, a Q-tip, and a tray to write on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chalk<\/strong><br>We may be expecting storms today.  However, if the weather clears up, writing with chalk on side walk is a fun and engaging way to encourage your child to write the alphabet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paper and Crayons<br><\/strong>Your child can simply write the alphabet with crayons and paper.  Will they write the alphabet with the same color?  Different colors?  Make a pattern with the colors?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Send me pictures of your child&#8217;s writing on Remind or email: thompsl@dearbornschools.org<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Math Activity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We finished learning the teen numbers!  The next number after the teen numbers is 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For today&#8217;s activity, I encourage your child to count from 1 to 20. To keep the consistency with what we do at school, I encourage you to follow the Plan, Do, Review process. Here is the Work Time process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Planning Time (5 minutes): Build your child\u2019s ability to organize their time by having them make a \u201cplan\u201d with you about what they would like to play with.&nbsp; Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. Before you recycle them, use them as an art activity for your child!  Will they turn their roll into an animal?  A monster?  A dinosaur?  The possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outdoor Exploration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We may be expecting some storms today.
