We are already in the middle of the week!  Before we start our activities for today, here are some announcements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phone Calls and Personal Activities<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>for Thursday, May 28<\/strong><br>Tomorrow, Mrs. Askar and I will be calling families who scheduled a Thursday phone call&nbsp;from 12-3 PM. We will be calling from a blocked phone number, so please do not be alarmed. If you miss our call, we will leave a message. We will do this with the nursery rhyme, &#8220;Humpty Dumpty.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, encourage your child to watch AND sing along to, &#8220;Humpty Dumpty.&#8221;  (It&#8217;s okay if your child wants or needs to watch and sing long to the video a couple of times)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Humpty Dumpty | Nursery Rhymes | Super Simple Songs\" width=\"644\" height=\"362\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nrv495corBc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, encourage them to act out the, &#8220;Humpty Dumpty,&#8221; nursery rhyme.  They can pretend to be Humpty Dumpty.  Encourage your child to sing the nursery rhyme as they act it out.  I also encourage you to sing it with them or play the nursery rhyme as your child acts it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Math Activity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For our math activity today, let&#8217;s take inventory of some items at home.  Inventory simply means to count items of the same category.  This activity helps your child&#8217;s counting skills, as well as data-collecting skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the directions for today&#8217;s activity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Encourage your child to count items of specific categories.  (Examples include: toys, fruits, vegetables, silverware, clothing items, etc.)<\/li><li>When your child finishes counting their categories, ask them which items they have the most of.<\/li><li>Ask your child which items they have the least of.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I encourage your child to engage in imaginary play for at least 60 minutes a day. To keep the consistency with what we do at school, I encourage you to follow the Plan, Do, Review process. Here is the Work Time process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Planning Time (5 minutes): Build your child\u2019s ability to organize their time by having them make a \u201cplan\u201d with you about what they would like to play with.&nbsp; Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts.
