{"id":74,"date":"2016-02-29T16:05:49","date_gmt":"2016-02-29T21:05:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/thomas\/?p=74"},"modified":"2016-02-29T16:05:49","modified_gmt":"2016-02-29T21:05:49","slug":"birds-and-perspective-snowmen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/thomas\/2016\/02\/29\/birds-and-perspective-snowmen\/","title":{"rendered":"Birds and Perspective Snowmen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most students have been learning about perspective through the subject of snowmen! \u00a0We haven&#8217;t had much snow this year so we have brought in our own! \u00a0If you visit Howard, you will see snowmen from the perspective of a worm, a bird and eye-to-eye!<\/p>\n<p>Students in grades 1-5 have created birds!<\/p>\n<p>1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades have created 3D birds from clay and paper mache&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>3rd grade is creating 2D cardinals and blue jays with colored pencils and printed birch tree collages. \u00a0These show the element of space. \u00a0Birds and trees that are close to us are large and bold in color, while the one that are farther are smaller and showing less details.<\/p>\n<p>The 4\/5 PBL class went on a field trip to the DIA. \u00a0We are working on turning our Noah&#8217;s Ark: Genesis inspired group choreo poems into Japanese Slat Books. \u00a0The students also created clay rattles to go along with the poem. \u00a0We hope to present our creations to the entire school in the near future!<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to check out the student displays in the hallways!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most students have been learning about perspective through the subject of snowmen! \u00a0We haven&#8217;t had much snow this year so we have brought in our own! \u00a0If you visit Howard, you will see snowmen from the perspective of a worm, a bird and eye-to-eye!
