There are actually three different ways to set up your Google Apps account on your iPhone or iPad. Each of these has benefits and detriments.<\/p>\n

  1. You can set up your account as an Exchange account.<\/li>\n
  2. You can set up your account as a Gmail account (IMAP).<\/li>\n
  3. You can use the Gmail application.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Advantages<\/td>\nOfficially supported as the “correct” way to sync data.This will provide the fastest data sync.<\/td>\n\u00a0All data syncs. This is a standard method for syncing mail. Many different email clients will work. Subscribed calendar information will sync automatically.<\/td>\n\u00a0Constantly updated Allows for a distinct separation of accounts.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Disadvantages<\/td>\nSubscribed calendars must be added manually. Each time you subscribe to a calendar, you must add it to each mobile device.<\/td>\nSlightly slower sync speeds. \u00a0Not the officially supported Google methodology.<\/td>\n\u00a0A separate account to check.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
