Many teachers are familiar with the general guidelines when posting material within a building. FERPA must be followed in online situations as well. As we move to more and more online materials, all educators must follow FERPA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a couple of acronyms to be familiar with: FERPA and PII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/policy\/gen\/guid\/fpco\/ferpa\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FERPA<\/a> &#8211; Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentprivacy.ed.gov\/content\/personally-identifiable-information-pii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PII<\/a> &#8211; Personally Identifiable Information<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/enforcement\/rules\/rulemaking-regulatory-reform-proceedings\/childrens-online-privacy-protection-rule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COPPA <\/a>&#8211;
