Testing week!\u00a0 All grades will be tested on the skills they have been practicing this marking period.\u00a0 Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will be tested on sliding sideways and catching a ball.\u00a0 Third Grade will be tested on their jumping rope.\u00a0 4th and 5th grades will be tested on sit-ups and underhand strike (volleyball serve).\u00a0 In 5th grade if a student earns a 1 or a 2 on their underhand strike test, they can enter their name in the hat.\u00a0 From the hat, I will choose 3 names per class to be on the student volleyball team which will play the staff in the Spring.\u00a0 Of course, they will need to be able to practice in the morning 2 days\u00a0 per week for 2 weeks at 7:30 am.\u00a0 They also, must be doing their classwork, homework and their behavior must be pretty good.\u00a0 Good luck to all!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Check out the picture of the 2017 VOLLEYBALL TEAM!!!<\/strong>\u00a0 CONGRATS TO ALL!\u00a0 WE LOOK FORWARD TO WATCHING YOU PLAY!!!<\/p>\n<p>The students from Running Club have turned in their race forms and looking forward to the Martian Marathon on Saturday, March 22nd at Ford Field Park in Dearborn.<\/p>\n<p>We had a great turn out for Jump Rope for Heart!\u00a0 There were many donations and lots of Rory&#8217;s handed out!\u00a0 We collected over $2700.00!\u00a0 Way to go!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all who donated!\u00a0 You have helped to save a life!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthy Tidbit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How can you get more fruits and veggies into your diet?\u00a0 We all know that fruits and veggies are good for your health.\u00a0 Listed below are ways to incorporate them into your meals.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>breakfast<\/strong>, try adding raisins, bananas or berries to your low sugar cereal or oatmeal.\u00a0 Add chopped veggies to your eggs or potatoes.\u00a0 Try green or red peppers, spinach or onions.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>lunch<\/strong> try a fruit salad or veggie salad with your sandwich.\u00a0 Bring a fruit and veggie in your lunch if you pack a lunch for school. Have a bowl of low salt vegetable soup with a sandwich.\u00a0 Put a vegetable\u00a0 on your sandwich.\u00a0 Add lettuce, onions, sprouts cucumbers, tomatoes or avocado.<\/p>\n<p>For an <strong>after school snack<\/strong>, try veggie sticks (carrots, green or red peppers or cucumbers) dipped in hummus.\u00a0 How about cut up apples dipped in peanut butter?\u00a0 Dried fruit like raisins, dates or dried apricots are yummy.\u00a0 A handful of nuts is a good snack, too!<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>dinner<\/strong> have a fruit or veggie salad with your meal.\u00a0 Have a side of steamed or microwaved veggies.\u00a0 Add extra veggies when cooking soup, chili or spaghetti sauce.\u00a0 Have a baked potato or sweet potato with your meal.<\/p>\n<p>The brighter the color the better!<\/p>\n<p>Frozen fruit and veggies are just as nutritious as fresh, so looking in the frozen food for some great fruit and veggie ideas!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, it&#8217;s finally here!
