{"id":274,"date":"2016-04-29T18:20:07","date_gmt":"2016-04-29T22:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/suarezpe\/?p=274"},"modified":"2016-04-29T18:33:06","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T22:33:06","slug":"heres-whats-going-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/suarezpe\/2016\/04\/29\/heres-whats-going-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s going on&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well another week has flown by!\u00a0 The raffle has begun, but will end soon, so drop your entry in the correct Raffle Box before the deadline!<\/p>\n<p>This week the K &#8211; 2 classes practice their skipping and then had their test!\u00a0 There are some wonderful skippers at Henry Ford!\u00a0 They also practice the overhand throw by throwing a ball at a target on the wall.\u00a0 Remember how to throw: Ready position, T, step, turn and bend, throw (and tickle for 2nd grade).\u00a0 Third graders\u00a0 had fun catching very large and very mini sports balls.\u00a0 They are also starting to jog around the gym because next year they have the 13 min. run test!!!\u00a0 Fourth and 5th grades are stretching every day they have PE Class and they are <strong>SUPPOSED TO BE STRETCHING AT HOME EVERY DAY<\/strong>, too! Don&#8217;t forget, the 4th and 5th grade sit and reach test is 2 weeks!\u00a0 The 4th grade is also practicing their overhand throw by playing pickle and the 5th grade are batting in hopes of playing whiffle ball when the weather gets warmer.\u00a0 I hope you have an active weekend, so remember get outside and play!!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthy tidbit:\u00a0 <\/strong>Carrots are from the vegetable group.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Did you know that the longest carrot ever recorded was nearly 19 feet long?\u00a0 Carrots are not always orange.\u00a0 There are also purple, red, white and yellow carrots.\u00a0 Carrots are a great snack-anytime.\u00a0 I especially love to eat carrots dipped in ranch dressing!\u00a0 Carrots are full of vitamins &#8211; some are good for your eyes.\u00a0 Eating carrots can help you see better at night.
