A Short Wintry Week of Learning!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week our normal schedule of virtual learning continues on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with our morning zoom and learning lab reading groups zooming in the afternoon. On Thursday, February 11 the district has made this an asynchronous day for all students. ( See Superintendent’s letter to the community for more details.) <\/strong> The students will be completing assignments from their weekly Benchmark Packet independently on that day. Friday, February 12- Monday, February 15 is Mid Winter Break<\/strong>. There is no school or zooming on those days. We will be back to our virtual learning and morning zoom with afternoon learning lab reading groups by zoom on Tuesday, February 16.<\/strong> I hope all second grade students enjoy their Mid Winter Break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning Labs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning labs are still happening by zoom in the afternoon! Please make sure you know your child\u2019s day and time. I really appreciate your help in making sure they are on zoom on time and they have their books ready so we can start reading right away. This is your child\u2019s chance to practice their reading strategies in a small group, reading books on their level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epic Books<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 3278 books have been read on Epic books by my students since we began school! This has totaled over 393 hours of reading! I am so proud of my students! Remember, if you want to read into the evening (after 4:00pm) on Epic books you need to respond to the email invite that I sent to you. This will allow you to read a selection of books for free in the evening. Epic books is usually only free during school hours. Let me know if you need me to resend the invitation to you. Yousef Alsaray <\/strong>is our Top Reader of the Week! Congratulations! Great job! Keep on reading!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In preparation for the Hybrid Model, I wanted to share out the google document below that provides registration information for Kids Club and Childcare. As mentioned in my video yesterday, I am hoping to let families know within the next week if they are an \u201cA-Family(in person on Monday and Thursday)\u201d or a \u201cB-Family(in person on Tuesday and Friday). I know that this will help with planning ahead for your families. Please see the linked document below that will provide some background information on these 2 programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

School Age Child Care Options <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you need Kids Club during our Hybrid Learning? We now have total ONLINE Enrollment through our new Eleyo System.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just go to our Eleyo Web Page https:\/\/dearbornschools.ce.eleyo.com\/child-care\/3\/school-age-care<\/a>  Parents will need to create an account and then begin to enroll their children. It is OK if you don\u2019t know your Cohort schedule at this point. Go ahead and choose a schedule. When you are given your schedule by your teacher just drop us an email at billingech@dearbornschools.org<\/a> and we can make that correction for you! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids Club is from 7:30 a.m. until the beginning of school and the flat fee is $13 for each a.m. session. The p.m. session is from the end of school until 5:30 p.m. and the flat fee is $15.60 for each session. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will see sections for Kids Club and for School Age All Day Child Care. We do offer care at DuVall and Lindbergh. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost per session is $36\/8 hour, $38\/9 hours and $40\/10 hours. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. A minimum number of students are required to offer our tuition based programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
