It may seem that I am being tough; but if we get our behavior under control now the rest of the year will be so much smoother!<\/p>\n<p>In reading this week we read several realistic fiction stories and focused on the characters, setting, problem and solution. \u00a0We will continue to focus on this next week. While the students are reading to self, I have continued to assess each student on letters, sounds, and reading level. \u00a0Once I have finished testing, I will send home a progress note with each student.<\/p>\n<p>In writing we have been focused on narrative writing. \u00a0We practiced how to introduce our story to our reader. \u00a0This week we have also focused on writing and reading the letter b and d. \u00a0Many students are getting these letters confused.<\/p>\n<p>For math this week we have been comparing numbers. Please practice this skill at home. &#8220;You have 10 m&amp;ms I have 5, who has more?&#8221; \u00a0please also ask your child &#8220;how many more do you have than me?&#8221; The question &#8220;how many more&#8221; \u00a0seems to really trick students.<\/p>\n<p>Have a wonderful weekend! \u00a0Enjoy the weather!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We made it through our first full week of school!!
