It is helpful to think of protein as a building block that helps your children BUILD our muscles, bones, skin and blood. When your children feel hungry, encouraging them to grab for protein is a great way to keep them feeling fuller, longer. Yet, protein can be a hard food group to encourage children to eat if they don\u2019t like meat.<br>Did you know that there are many plant-based protein sources that are inexpensive and easy to find? Canned beans like kidney, pinto and black beans are a great source of protein. Chickpeas and lentils are also a great way to get some protein.
