{"id":844,"date":"2016-09-25T22:01:25","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T02:01:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/spencerj\/?p=844"},"modified":"2016-09-25T22:01:25","modified_gmt":"2016-09-26T02:01:25","slug":"weekly-spelling-words-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/spencerj\/2016\/09\/25\/weekly-spelling-words-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Spelling Words!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Weekly Spelling Words<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week we will be continuing with the CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) pattern and add the CVCe (consonant, vowel, consonant, silent e) pattern.<\/p>\n<p>Pattern words &#8211; <em>cap, cape, mad, made, pan<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sight words &#8211; <em>ask, take, as, fast, after<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We will be reading many poems this week at reading time.<\/p>\n<p>In math, we are continuing to practice number patterns (counting by 2&#8217;s, 5&#8217;s, and 10&#8243;s), number grids with +1, -1, +10, -10, comparing numbers (25&lt;36, 235&gt;124), and building numbers with base 10 blocks. \u00a0Please practice counting patterns with your child at home. This can be done orally in the car or anytime!<\/p>\n<p>We will be doing a fun activity this week exploring matter in science.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s is all about our community in social studies.
