READING-We begin Unit 8 \u00a0PLANTS<\/strong><\/p>\n This week’s theme is\u00a0How Trees Grow.\u00a0<\/strong>We’ll be working with\u00a0Sequencing<\/strong> with recalling stories and events. \u00a0We’ll also focus on\u00a0sequencing\u00a0<\/strong>with this week’s writing. \u00a0First, Next, Then, Last<\/p>\n LETTERS-K \u00a0k \u00a0 \u00a0 ck<\/strong><\/p>\n WORDS-Little \u00a0 little \u00a0 \u00a0 said<\/strong><\/p>\n We will work with the\u00a0ot\u00a0<\/strong>chunk and I’ve added a word to go with our reading unit-plants.<\/strong><\/p>\n So, this week’s Spelling Words are: \u00a0little \u00a0said \u00a0hot \u00a0not \u00a0pot \u00a0cot \u00a0plants<\/strong><\/p>\n WRITING-We will be writing Steps in a Process.<\/p>\n For example, Steps to make a Sandwich<\/p>\n First<\/strong>, you get some bread.<\/p>\n Next<\/strong>\u00a0you spread on peanut butter.<\/p>\n Then<\/strong>\u00a0you spread on jelly.<\/p>\n Last<\/strong>, you eat it.<\/p>\n Try some steps at home…Steps to get Ready For Bed, For School, To Go To Grandma’s House, To Eat Cereal<\/p>\n You don’t have to write down everything. \u00a0Just talking through the steps is good practice for sequencing the thoughts\/steps.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n MATH-We’ll be doing some worksheets with Missing Numbers to 20. \u00a0We’ll also play a Dice Addition Game with partners.<\/p>\n SCIENCE-Of course, we’ll plant some seeds.<\/p>\n SOCIAL STUDIES-We’ll talk about jobs that are related to\u00a0Plants.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tuesday is St. Patrick’s Day so we’ll be celebrating the “Holiday” in here. \u00a0Wear something GREEN. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Wednesday is Library Book Day and Trial Spelling Test(so they’ll know what words need a little extra practice and study. ) \u00a0Check out Spell City link on my blog. \u00a0It’s a good chance to practice this week’s words.<\/p>\n Friday is Final Publishing of this week’s Writing and Final Spelling Test.<\/p>\n Lots of fun and I’m sure we’ll finally get some recess time!<\/p>\n Have a good week.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I see some grass and feel some warmth from the sun…come on Spring!!
