{"id":952,"date":"2015-03-02T20:20:10","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T01:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=952"},"modified":"2015-03-02T20:20:10","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T01:20:10","slug":"week-of-march-2-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2015\/03\/02\/week-of-march-2-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of March 2-6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the saying goes, &#8220;March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb&#8221; and March is doing just that!<\/p>\n<p>Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!<\/p>\n<p>READING-Week 2 of Unit 7 \u00a0\u00a0<strong>SEASONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WRITING-We&#8217;ll be writing Questions and Answers.\u00a0\u00a0After writing, \u00a0students are taught to reread the sentences and ask themselves, &#8220;Does that make sense?&#8221; \u00a0If not, revise it. \u00a0Then edit it for spelling and punctuation.<\/p>\n<p>SPELLING-Sorry about missing last week&#8217;s test! \u00a0Augh&#8230;just cramming in so many extras on Friday lead me to forgetting all about the Spelling test. \u00a0We made corn muffins with Mr. Marks ( a dear friend of mine who just retired from teaching last June. \u00a0He so enjoys kids so he pops in every now and then. \u00a0I never really know when he&#8217;s coming but we always have a great time together.) \u00a0We did some Math and Science along with the baking. \u00a0We had 4 choices of condiments to enjoy with our muffins. \u00a0We predicted which topping would be the favorite&#8211;butter, honey, maple syrup, or milk. \u00a0After eating the muffins, we made a graph of our favorite. \u00a0Guess which one was the favorite? \u00a0Ask your Kindergartener \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>I digressed-sorry. \u00a0Spelling words for this week are from the\u00a0<strong>an\u00a0<\/strong>family. \u00a0<b>fan \u00a0 man \u00a0 pan \u00a0 tan \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Our reading and Spelling Words- \u00a0<strong>and \u00a0 what<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES-Seasonal Jobs<\/p>\n<p>MATH-Story Problems<\/p>\n<p>Attributes Game \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Tools for Measuring Time<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday-<strong>Homework will be going home. \u00a0Due Wednesday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday-Library Book<\/p>\n<p>Trial Spelling Test<\/p>\n<p>Friday-2:00 \u00a0We will have a fabulous program sponsored by our PTA. \u00a0Nancy Worchester, a ventriloquist, has visited Howard for the past 4 years and the students really enjoy her performance.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the week.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the saying goes, &#8220;March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb&#8221; and March is doing just that!
