Our reading Unit is\u00a0Food.<\/strong><\/p>\n This week’s focus is called “What’s For Dinner?”<\/strong><\/p>\n LETTER-\u00a0C \u00a0c<\/strong><\/p>\n WORD-\u00a0Have \u00a0have<\/strong><\/p>\n WRITING-Opinion writing<\/strong><\/p>\n Have your student finish these sentences…<\/p>\n “For dinner I would have_________.”<\/p>\n “For lunch I would have _________.”<\/p>\n “For breakfast I would have_______.<\/p>\n The above sentences use this week’s word\u00a0have.<\/strong> \u00a0They fit with our writing of having an opinion. \u00a0They also work with our Social Studies Unit of \u00a0Time Lines. (morning, afternoon, evening) \u00a0You might even try to have your student fill in the blank with a food that starts with “c,”\u00a0<\/strong>which is our letter of the week. (See how sneaky I can be with my lesson plans!)<\/p>\n MATH-We’ll be working with the Number Line. \u00a0“Where will you end up if you start on 0 and take 2 steps forward? \u00a0“If you start on 4, how many steps will it take to get to 8?” \u00a0“If you are on 7, and take 5 steps back, where will you end up?”<\/p>\n Within the next 2 weeks I will be assessing the students on writing the numbers 0-30. \u00a0We have been practicing this. \u00a0Have them write the numbers by themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n SOCIAL STUDIES-I will also be assessing them on Needs\/ Wants \u00a0 Goods\/ Services. \u00a0Have a conversation about those topics. \u00a0They are doing quite well with those units of study.<\/p>\n Looking ahead…<\/p>\n WED., -LATE START<\/p>\n -Library Day \u00a0 \u00a0Let’s see if EVERYONE can bring in their book this week!<\/p>\n -Holiday Boutique shopping \u00a0 Notes went home today. \u00a0The students always enjoy going “shopping” on their own.<\/p>\n Our Holiday Party will be Thursday, Dec. 18. \u00a0Mrs. Luckey and Mrs. Hider will be contacting you if anything is needed.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On a personal note…my husband will be having surgery on Friday. \u00a0He will be in ICU for 5-6 days. \u00a0I plan to be here as much as I can. \u00a0My dear friend, and wonderful sub, Mrs. Balaka will be here for me.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Only 2 weeks left before Christmas Break…time goes so quickly!
