Fall is in full swing and I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather!<\/p>\n
Here’s what planned for this week…<\/p>\n
READING-We will begin Unit 2 \u00a0FRIENDS.<\/strong> \u00a0This week’s theme is\u00a0Learning About Friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n Our new letter is\u00a0S \u00a0s<\/strong> and our word of the week is\u00a0like.<\/strong><\/p>\n WRITING-Our focus will be on\u00a0writing sentences.<\/strong> \u00a0This will include:<\/p>\n beginning with a capital letter<\/p>\n spaces between words<\/p>\n punctuation at the end<\/p>\n You can work with this at home. \u00a0All sentences need to make sense. \u00a0Have your child give you sentences using one of our words. \u00a0like<\/strong> \u00a0 “We\u00a0like<\/strong>\u00a0riding bikes.”<\/p>\n All previous words should be known words now. \u00a0They should know how to read, spell, and write the words. \u00a0( \u00a0I \u00a0Can \u00a0 can \u00a0 We \u00a0we \u00a0The \u00a0the \u00a0am) \u00a0Now add\u00a0like<\/strong> to their list of known words.<\/p>\n MATH-Teen Numbers \u00a0 These can be tricky! \u00a0Again, you can work with this at home.<\/p>\n Looking ahead…<\/p>\n HALLOWEEN-October 31, 2014 \u00a0We will have an All-School Parade \u00a0outside on the track in the afternoon. \u00a0Time TBA \u00a0Students will bring their costume in a bag on Friday, Oct 31. \u00a0Do NOT come to school in costume on that Friday. \u00a0They will change into their costume after lunch. \u00a0If you are able to pick up your child at lunch (11:25) to go home and dress, that would be great! \u00a0You should have them back by 1:00 pm. \u00a0That would give you a little extras time too. \u00a0No scary costumes or full face masks. \u00a0Bring your camera to the parade…they are really cute!!<\/p>\n Keep up your nightly reading logs and calendars. \u00a0The students are building up their\u00a0reading stamina\u00a0<\/strong>and read for 15 minutes one day last week!! \u00a0Keep it up readers!<\/p>\n Enjoy the week.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Fall is in full swing and I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather!
