READING-I \u00a0Can \u00a0can<\/strong> \u00a0all students should know how to spell and write.<\/p>\n We made a book today titled\u00a0I Can.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0<\/strong>It is in their Book Box, to be read during Read To Self time.<\/p>\n WRITING-Journals \u00a0They were to write their own sentence using “I \u00a0can ______.” \u00a0Thinking of their own idea was the first step!<\/p>\n MATH-We played a game with the number 8. \u00a0Ask them about it. \u00a0We played the same game yesterday using the number 7. \u00a0Both days we had the same winner-Aya Chami!! \u00a0We also finished Unit 1 in the Math Book. \u00a0We are busy in Kindergarten \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n I explained the Pizza Hut Book-It Reading that they will be doing at home, beginning Oct. 1. \u00a0I decided to wait until next week to send home the October Calendar Reading Log. \u00a0(It has owls on it.)<\/p>\n Last year I started a Science focus and, to help with turning my students into\u00a0Scientists<\/strong>, I had them each bring in one of Dad’s (or uncle, Grandpa’s) white t-shirts that will become their “Lab Coats.”<\/strong><\/em> Afterall, scientists do wear lab coats! \u00a0I have safety glasses for them. \u00a0We won’t be using them for a few weeks but I want to be prepared. \u00a0Thank you.<\/p>\n Next week…<\/p>\n READING-Our reading theme for the next 3 weeks will be “My Family and Me.” \u00a0I will be starting Reading Groups.<\/p>\n WRITING-Our letter for the week is\u00a0M \u00a0m.<\/strong><\/p>\n Our word for the week is\u00a0We \u00a0 \u00a0we.<\/strong><\/p>\n Look for papers to come home using these letters\/words. \u00a0Have your child read his work to you.<\/p>\n MATH-We will begin Unit 2. \u00a0We’ll talk review basic shapes (circle, triangle, square, rectangle) and review patterns.<\/p>\n Looking ahead…<\/p>\n Wednesday is a LATE START. \u00a0For those buying their lunch, I will take their order on Tuesday. \u00a0Check the menu for daily choice.<\/p>\n Friday, Oct. 3 & Monday, Oct. 6_NO SCHOOL<\/p>\n Get out and enjoy this gorgeous fall weather!<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We finished up the week with… READING-I \u00a0Can \u00a0can \u00a0all students should know how to spell and write.
