{"id":58,"date":"2013-09-23T14:19:26","date_gmt":"2013-09-23T18:19:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=58"},"modified":"2013-09-23T14:19:26","modified_gmt":"2013-09-23T18:19:26","slug":"september-23-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2013\/09\/23\/september-23-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"September 23, 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I hope you got to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! \u00a0It was lovely. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>READING-We begin our first real unit in READING. \u00a0(The last 3 weeks are called SMART START&#8230;gets us started.)<\/p>\n<p>Our reading theme for the next 3 weeks is FAMILIES. \u00a0Our unit topic for this week is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">My Family and Me<\/span>. \u00a0This morning we talked about our families and animal families. \u00a0Same? \u00a0Different? \u00a0How?<\/p>\n<p>Our letter this week is &#8220;M \u00a0m&#8221; and our word is &#8220;We \u00a0we.&#8221; \u00a0Look for things coming home with these words and letters on them.<\/p>\n<p>WRITING-We will be writing with &#8220;m&#8221; words, using the word &#8220;we&#8221; and working with\u00a0<strong>labels.<\/strong> (like labeling a picture)<\/p>\n<p>MATH-Today we worked with &#8220;counting the next number.&#8221; \u00a0I had them in a circle and each one counted (said) the next number. \u00a0Just about everyone could tell me what number was next.
