Welcome back! \u00a0I hope you all had a relaxing and fun vacation. \u00a0I was in sunny Florida and I thought there would be warmer temperatures at home when I returned. \u00a0It’s still a bit chilly here but I know that Spring is on the way because I see beautiful flowers blooming and folks running and bicycling and walking!<\/p>\n
Here we go on the last stretch of the year-WOW!<\/p>\n
READING-We will finish up our Unit 9 about THE AMAZING CREATURES. \u00a0Week 1 was about INSECTS. \u00a0Last week was about the OCEAN. \u00a0This week is about ANIMALS NOW AND THEN. \u00a0Today we looked at a picture of a boy lying on a beach and looking at a sea turtle. \u00a0I asked the students, “How is the boy like the sea turtle?” \u00a0I was amazed at their thoughts! \u00a0Here is a sampling…<\/p>\n
Both boy and turtle have:<\/p>\n
skin<\/p>\n
breathe air<\/p>\n
crawl<\/p>\n
have a body, neck, arms, legs, eyes<\/p>\n
like the beach<\/p>\n

blood<\/p>\n
bones<\/p>\n
a spine \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and other observations<\/p>\n

WRITING-I read them a story titled “If The Dinosaurs Came Back.” \u00a0They really enjoyed it. \u00a0It is FANTASY. \u00a0So, you can imagine where I went with a discussion and writing topic.<\/p>\n
MATH-We will be playing some games with addition and subtraction (and die). \u00a0They love to roll the die. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES-We’ll be exploring\u00a0fossils.<\/strong> \u00a0It will go along with dinosaurs. \u00a0We’ll also be studying turtles.<\/p>\n NEWS…<\/strong>Check the backpack Mom!<\/p>\n Also, Thursday, May 15, we will be taking an all-day<\/strong>\u00a0Field Trip to Greenfield Village.
