READING-We move into week 2 of our unit about Plants. \u00a0This week’s theme is\u00a0Seeds and Plants.<\/strong> \u00a0We’ll talk about how seeds travel and remind ourselves that plants grow from seeds. \u00a0Look for ways that seeds travel as the snow thaws and you can be outside.<\/p>\n

WRITING-We will explore and write with\u00a0SIMILIES<\/strong>! \u00a0Of course we will use our good steps of writing by writing a\u00a0rough draft, revising and editing the draft, and finally publishing\u00a0<\/strong>the writing. \u00a0This is the writing process that they will always use when they write (even in college and after) so I start them early!<\/p>\n

LETTERS\/WORDS-“U u”<\/strong> (Their helper word from me is “umbrella.)\u00a0 \u00a0Here \u00a0here \u00a0Was \u00a0was<\/strong><\/p>\n

MATH-We will review position words, work with telling time (hour and half hour), and we’ll do some skip counting (counting on from any number that I give them). \u00a0ie. \u00a0 14 –,–,–,– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 28–,–,–,– \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 53, –,–,– \u00a0Have fun with this as you drive around on errands, make beds together, etc.<\/p>\n

Spring is on it’s way but our weather changes daily. \u00a0Please be sure that your child has boots on those rainy, soggy days. \u00a0I do try to get them outside but our playground is so muddy and soggy right now. \u00a0They need to have boots to go on the grassy area\/equipment area. \u00a0If they don’t have boots then they stay on the porch. \u00a0I heard that tomorrow might bring snow and Friday might bring temperatures of 50! \u00a0Happy Spring!<\/p>\n

REPORT CARDS-Thursday I will be sending home Report Cards. \u00a0If I am meeting with you for a conference Thursday you will receive your child’s card at that time.<\/p>\n
