{"id":3143,"date":"2020-01-15T12:24:44","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T17:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=3143"},"modified":"2020-01-15T12:24:48","modified_gmt":"2020-01-15T17:24:48","slug":"journal-writing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2020\/01\/15\/journal-writing\/","title":{"rendered":"Journal writing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today&#8217;s writing&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;What is something you did last night.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Last night I&#8230;&#8221;  They wrote at least 2 sentences with a Capital letter at the beginning, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">spaces between words and a period at the end.<\/span>  Most did very well pushing through the words, listening to the sounds that their mouth was making and writing a good sentence (one that makes sense!).  Practice this at home.  Have them make a sentence about what they had for dinner, what was the story about in class, what they are doing over the weekend, etc.  Any topic is fair game for writing!  Be creative with ideas.
