All morning I kept hearing,”This is the best day of my life!”\u00a0 Such happy little beings…lots of love.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at next week…<\/p>\n

Tuesday we will finish our book about POLAR BEARS.\u00a0 They are really turning out nicely.\u00a0 Good sentences, good recall of information and neat writing.<\/p>\n

I will lightly introduce PENGUINS.\u00a0 Eventually we will compare and contrast the POLAR BEARS AND PENGUINS.\u00a0 Higher level thinking going on in here.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

READING- I will try to pick up reading groups from Friday and Monday.\u00a0 Please send in their bags.\u00a0 I can tell that the kids are reading more at home.\u00a0 Their reading shows it and so does their writing.\u00a0 \u00a0They are also doing well with COMPREHENSION…very important to understand what is read, connect it to prior knowledge or another topic\/book with which we have dealt, or to apply it to new learning.\u00a0 thanks for your help on the home front.<\/p>\n

WRITING-PENGUINS\u00a0 Informational\u00a0 \u00a0 Compare and Contrast<\/p>\n

SPELLING WORDS-had\u00a0 mad\u00a0 \u00a0sad\u00a0 go\u00a0 \u00a0we\u00a0 \u00a0look\u00a0 \u00a0in<\/strong><\/p>\n

PHONICS-We will do a long\u00a0i<\/strong> review, as in like, bike, kite<\/p>\n

FRIDAY-Spelling Test (see words listed above)<\/p>\n

MATH-Number Bonds, composing and decomposing<\/p>\n

Here’s a glimpse into my class.\u00a0 The book calls for a circle with 2 lines connecting to it.\u00a0 As in a circle with a 5 in it and 2 lines with circles at the end of the lines, showing 2 numbers that make 5.\u00a0 Bonds.\u00a0 Well, I asked my class to give me 2 numbers that would make up\u00a0 7.\u00a0 They gave me 3 and 4.\u00a0 Then I asked for more numbers.\u00a0 That was my mistake because then they started giving me 3 + 2 + 2 + 0.\u00a0 The bond in the book only gave opportunities for 2 responses and now they are giving me 4 possibilities! So, I challenged them and asked for 4 numbers that I could compose to make 11, 13,\u00a0 …\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
