Yesterday we started a unit about “Gingerbread.”\u00a0 Naturally we read “The Gingerbread Man” and made all of the characters so that we could retell the story.\u00a0 They had a great time making the characters and I listened carefully as they\u00a0retold<\/em><\/strong> the story with their “peanut butter\/jelly”\u00a0<\/em>partner.\u00a0 I was listening for\u00a0comprehension and sequencing.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0I will send home those character pieces sometime this week.\u00a0 I couldn’t catch all of the kids but here are a few retelling the story with their partner.<\/p>\n Also this week I will be sending home a little packet to be completed over Christmas Break (just to keep things fresh in their minds.) The pages are very easy.<\/p>\n The important piece to be returned is “All About Me timeline.”<\/strong>\u00a0 Directions are included.\u00a0 This is part of our Social Studies curriculum.<\/p>\n Other decorations will be coming home too this week.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 If you’re in my class…”Leave the decorating to us.”<\/p>\n Today, because we have earned the “Etiquette Award”<\/strong> we will be treated to “Hot Chocolate with Mrs. Claus”!!!<\/p>\n Wednesday-regular schedule<\/p>\n Thursday- We will have a little party in here.\u00a0 The homeroom mothers have it all under control.<\/p>\n Friday-We will participate in out “All School Sing-A-Long” singing some of our favorite some of our favorite songs.\u00a0 At the same time, some folks will be having their hair cut (Parents Permission required!!) and share in the “Children With Hair Loss” donation program.\u00a0 This is an annual event and Howard students and families have contributed a very generous amount through the years.\u00a0 We are such a giving community.<\/p>\n Finally, to you and yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas, a Joyous New Year, and safe holidays!\u00a0 I’ll see you in 2019 and can’t wait to hear all of the news from my Kindergarteners.\u00a0 I know they’ll have plenty to share.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Our last week of December??!!\u00a0 Where does the time go?
