Apples, Apples<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Text Features<\/p>\n<p>WRITING-\u00a0\u00a0<strong>OPINION WRITiNG\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 &#8220;I like a\u00a0 _________.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>LETTERS-\u00a0\u00a0<strong>F\u00a0 f\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WORDS-\u00a0<strong>like\u00a0 A\u00a0 a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By now, your student should know the sounds connected to the letters we have worked with so far and how to write the letters.\u00a0 They also should know how to read and write the words we have done.<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00a0 m\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A a\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0D\u00a0 d\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0O o<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Am\u00a0 \u00a0am\u00a0 \u00a0 At\u00a0 at\u00a0 \u00a0See\u00a0 see\u00a0 \u00a0A\u00a0 a\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please practice these with your child.\u00a0 Start a sentence for them to write and finish.\u00a0 &#8220;I\u00a0 like a __________.&#8221;\u00a0 \u00a0I see a ______.&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;Am I at ___________?\u00a0 \u00a0I am at _________.&#8221;\u00a0 \u00a0Remember to add the punctuation too!!\u00a0 They know\u00a0<em><strong>periods at the end of sentences<\/strong>\u00a0and<\/em><strong>\u00a0 question marks come at the end of questions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MATH-Last week we worked with the concept of zero and worked with numbers 0-5.\u00a0 We will now work with numbers 6-8 in different configurations (vertically, horizontally linear configurations, arrays, scattered and circular)<\/p>\n<p>Write the numeral 7.\u00a0 Compose the number 7 with spoons, etc.\u00a0 Ask, &#8220;How is your 7 different than mine?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES-&#8220;Who am I and how do I get Along With Others?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Today we took the Math portion of the NWEA.\u00a0 Some great scores in here!<\/p>\n<p>We also had our first FIRE DRILL.\u00a0 \u00a0They all did very well&#8230;lots of directions to follow.<\/p>\n<p>By now all students have a BOOK BAG that goes home with them.\u00a0 there is a note inside of the BOOK BAG that tells when the BOOK BAG should come back for reading to me and for new books.\u00a0 The kids have already told me about reading to family members, pets, stuffed animals, grandparents, etc.\u00a0 That is fantastic!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your support on the home front.<\/p>\n<p>Remember&#8230; NO SCHOOL TOMORROW FOR KINDERGARTEN.<\/p>\n<p>For your future planning, PICTURE DAY will be Thursday, October 18.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy your long weekend with your Kindergartener!<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;Change is an opportunity to do something amazing.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can you believe that October is right around the corner??\u00a0 I hope you can get outside and enjoy this terrific weather.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s coming up for next week.
