{"id":2341,"date":"2018-04-16T16:07:43","date_gmt":"2018-04-16T20:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=2341"},"modified":"2018-04-16T16:07:43","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T20:07:43","slug":"week-of-april-16-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2018\/04\/16\/week-of-april-16-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of April 16, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are sooooo busy in here!<\/p>\n<p>Our main focus right now is SCIENCE.\u00a0 Last week we planted sunflower seeds.\u00a0 As with all SCIENTISTS, we are learning how to\u00a0<em>observe, record our observations, compare data, and predict.<\/em>\u00a0 The students are so excited each morning to see the growth of their plant.\u00a0 We have made entries for 2 weeks now and I am impressed with their\u00a0<em>observations.<\/em>\u00a0 Good SCIENTISTS in here.<\/p>\n<p>READING-Seeds\u00a0 \u00a0We read <u>The Sunflower House.<\/u><\/p>\n<p>WRITING-<em>INFORMATIONAL (with descriptive words about a specific flower.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>MATH-Graphing\u00a0 \u00a0We will be making different kinds of graphs (in order to set them up as reviews for NWEA in a few weeks) and comparing the graphs.\u00a0 we started today with a\u00a0<em>pictograph of different pets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE-Seeds and Plants<\/p>\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES- Taking a stand on an issue\u00a0 (on report card)<\/p>\n<p>I tired to take some pictures of them &#8220;observing&#8221; and recording information with their plants today. I know I didn&#8217;t get each student this time but you&#8217;ll get the idea.<\/p>\n<p>Stay dry, warm, and I hope you have power.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 About 3\/4 of my class was without power this weekend!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are sooooo busy in here!
