{"id":220,"date":"2014-01-27T20:20:58","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T01:20:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=220"},"modified":"2014-01-27T20:20:58","modified_gmt":"2014-01-28T01:20:58","slug":"monday-12714","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2014\/01\/27\/monday-12714\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday  1\/27\/14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In case you have not heard by now, SCHOOL IS CLOSED FOR TOMORROW, Tuesday 1\/28\/14. \u00a0 Stay tuned for any future closings.<\/p>\n<p>For our Spirit Week-<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday is class color day.\u00a0 Kindergarten color is&#8230;&#8230;RAINBOW!!&#8221;\u00a0 Fits perfectly for Kindergarteners.\u00a0\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The students are doing so well with their reading and writing.\u00a0 They have the tools for a super sentence<\/p>\n<p>-Begins with a capital letter<\/p>\n<p>-Spaces between words<\/p>\n<p>-Punctuation at the end (\u00a0 .\u00a0 ?\u00a0\u00a0 !\u00a0 )<\/p>\n<p>Today we were discussing<strong> dialogue<\/strong>.\u00a0 After reading a story, I\u00a0had them talk with their elbow buddy about some dialogue that the main character, Russ, might have with others.\u00a0 Then they wrote their sentences in their Journals.\u00a0 They did a great job!\u00a0 Keep up the reading, discussions, and writing at home.\u00a0 I can always tell who is taking these literacy steps to help support these young readers and writers!
