{"id":205,"date":"2014-01-10T08:02:34","date_gmt":"2014-01-10T13:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=205"},"modified":"2014-01-10T08:02:34","modified_gmt":"2014-01-10T13:02:34","slug":"friday-january-10-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2014\/01\/10\/friday-january-10-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday, January 10, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A short week! \u00a0I am still going to fit 5 days worth of instruction into 2 days LOL!<\/p>\n<p>In short&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>December Reading logs are due. \u00a0I will accept them on Monday also.<\/p>\n<p>READING-We started a new unit. \u00a0Our theme is ANIMALS. \u00a0This week&#8217;s Unit is Animals All Around.<\/p>\n<p>WRITING-easy! \u00a0Since I have been writing with my kids since day 1 in Kindergarten, they already know so many words. \u00a0This week&#8217;s letter is &#8220;<strong>O \u00a0o&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong> and the word is &#8220;<strong>Is \u00a0is.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FYI&#8230;Beginning January 27, the district will be implementing a new Spelling Curriculum for Kindergarten. \u00a0Students will work on certain &#8220;chunks&#8221; each week. \u00a0More later.<\/p>\n<p>MATH-Subtraction story problems and Non-standard measuring.<\/p>\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES-Needs and Wants\/Goods and Services<\/p>\n<p>sharing, trading, etc<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE-Weather&#8230;I have to teach weather with all of what&#8217;s going on outside!<\/p>\n<p>Miss Jordet (former Kindergarten student of mine, now doing her Student Teaching in Elementary Ed.)<a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/398\/2014\/01\/Pete-stool.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-206\" alt=\"Pete stool\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/398\/2014\/01\/Pete-stool-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> made a Christmas present for me (I think it&#8217;s really for my kids :)). \u00a0Have a look! \u00a0We LOVE our new Pete!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A short week! \u00a0I am still going to fit 5 days worth of instruction into 2 days LOL!
