{"id":1967,"date":"2017-05-17T17:04:36","date_gmt":"2017-05-17T21:04:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=1967"},"modified":"2017-05-17T17:04:36","modified_gmt":"2017-05-17T21:04:36","slug":"field-trip-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2017\/05\/17\/field-trip-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Field Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are sooooo excited about tomorrow&#8217;s trip.<\/p>\n<p>Parent chaperones&#8230;.you may meet us at the Village tomorrow or car pool from school and meet us. \u00a0Since most of my parents are going and Miss Shepler needs a few more chaperones for her class, some of my parents will have more than 1 child in their group.<\/p>\n<p>One of our Howard School focuses for these remaining weeks is always engaging in appropriate behavior. \u00a0The Kindergarten teachers have been stressing this expectation with our students. \u00a0Thanks for your support.<\/p>\n<p>There is a playground area near the Carousel which is a good recess area. \u00a0However, this trip is an educational trip and we hope you will encourage learning about and investigating the different parts of the Village. \u00a0When I was an Elementary student, we were ALWAYS taking Field Trips to the Village. \u00a0Since I am small and short I could not see much nor was I interested in the buildings because we went as a large group and no one was there to talk to us. \u00a0I am so glad that my students will be in very small groups, which will allow for listening, questions, and learning about the past.<\/p>\n<p>( Guess where my first job was when I was in high school&#8230;you guessed it&#8230;Greenfield Village and I loved it!)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We had a reader today&#8230;We were reading a story about a trumpet (Mo Willems) and the kids suggested that Mr. Blessing should read it because he likes music. \u00a0So, I sent down 2 messengers and back he came. \u00a0We even worked with &#8220;accents&#8221; (part of the story). \u00a0So glad he was able to accommodate our request!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"boxer\" href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/398\/2017\/05\/dan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1968\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/398\/2017\/05\/dan-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/398\/2017\/05\/dan-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/398\/2017\/05\/dan.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The difference between <strong>school<\/strong> and\u00a0<\/em><strong>life<em>? \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>school,<\/strong>\u00a0<em>you are taught a lesson <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>and then\u00a0<\/em><em>given a test.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In\u00a0<strong>life,\u00a0<\/strong>you are given a test <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>that teaches you a lesson.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are sooooo excited about tomorrow&#8217;s trip.
