READING-We will begin our last reading unit`Unit 10 \u00a0I KNOW A LOT! \u00a0<\/strong>Our theme is “Show What You Know.”<\/p>\n WRITING-Narrative \u00a0 I will be giving them sentence stems (sentence starters) and they will write to that stem. \u00a0This week’s stem is “I can do many things, but I really wish I knew how to…” \u00a0 As I do every week, Monday I <\/strong>will\u00a0introduce and write a response to model for them. \u00a0Tuesday,\u00a0we<\/strong> will write sentences together. \u00a0On Wednesday,\u00a0they\u00a0<\/strong>will do their own rough draft. \u00a0Thursday I revise and edit with them (Field Trip day) and Friday we publish and share our writing.<\/p>\n SPELLING-Since last Friday was a bit busy !!!, I did not give them the Spelling Test but did give them each 100% for that day’s grade. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42 \u00a0 This week we are working with the\u00a0ip<\/strong> chunk. \u00a0Here you go…<\/p>\n rip \u00a0sip \u00a0nip \u00a0hip \u00a0lip \u00a0drip \u00a0ship \u00a0skip \u00a0slip \u00a0slip \u00a0<\/strong>= 10 words<\/p>\n MATH-Geometry and Number stories<\/p>\n SOCIAL STUDIES-Michigan Week<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Also this week…<\/p>\n Wednesday<\/span>-LATE START<\/p>\n Thursday<\/span>– Field Trip to Greenfield Village \u00a0All Kindergarten students will ride the bus. \u00a0Parents may carpool or meet us there. \u00a0Bus will not leave until about 9:30. \u00a0Reminder that this trip is for Kindergarten students only.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Wear comfortable walking shoes.<\/p>\n Bring a sack lunch<\/p>\n Sunscreen<\/p>\n If you have a membership, please bring your membership card and ID with you. \u00a0Upon arrival at the Village, I will divide the group into those with memberships and those who need tickets. \u00a0Please do NOT take your child from the group until I have dismissed the students to parents. \u00a0 I will decide on a meeting spot for gathering after our visit.<\/p>\n I will be giving the students a Scavenger Hunt to guide you with your visit.<\/p>\n All Kindergarten students will ride the bus back to school. \u00a0<\/strong>We should be returning to school about 2:30.<\/p>\n The students are very excited for the trip and so am I. \u00a0Since most of them do not ride a bus to school, the bus ride is often a highlight of the trip. \u00a0 I think we may even have beautiful weather too. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Friday-<\/span> \u00a0Field Day\u00a0<\/strong>(sponsored by our fantastic PTA!) \u00a0This will be a morning of outside games and races. \u00a0This is an annual event and always a favorite among the students. \u00a0Thank you PTA for making this happen. \u00a0I understand that the organizers could use some extra hands that morning. \u00a0If you are available, please consider coming up to school and lending a hand. \u00a0We will be outside from 9:10-11:00. \u00a0The events are Flag Football, Basketball, Soccer.
