{"id":1940,"date":"2017-05-04T14:23:22","date_gmt":"2017-05-04T18:23:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=1940"},"modified":"2017-05-04T14:23:22","modified_gmt":"2017-05-04T18:23:22","slug":"week-of-may-8-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2017\/05\/04\/week-of-may-8-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of May 8, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few things before I post next week&#8217;s plans&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Mon-Fri my class will be leading the entire school in reciting &#8220;The Pledge of Allegiance!&#8221; \u00a0I will send a different group of 5 down to the office in the morning. \u00a0They are excited about this special moment.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday Howard School will be having our &#8220;Clean Up Parade.&#8221; \u00a0This event has been going on in Dearborn since I was in Elementary School in Dearborn. \u00a0We loved being able to walk in the streets and carry our sign. \u00a0What does that mean for you?? \u00a0You can make a poster at home this weekend for your child to carry in the parade. \u00a0&#8220;Don&#8217;t be a Litter Bug&#8230;Keep Dearborn clean&#8221; \u00a0or &#8220;Recycle, Reduce, Reuse&#8221; or &#8220;Clean Up, Paint Up Fix Up&#8221; or whatever you and your child would like to state. \u00a0We would like the Kindergarteners to wear their Howard T-shirts or any blue shirt they have. \u00a0Just a fun afternoon. \u00a0Parade starts at 1:30 and will travel from N.York to Wilson to ? to Lawrence to N. York. \u00a0Following the parade, there will be a short program out on the school lawn. \u00a0Bring your camera. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>BIRTHDAYS-I understand there is some confusion about the birthday celebrations. \u00a0If your child has a summer birthday, I would like to have a special day to honor your child, like I do when birthdays fall throughout the year. \u00a0Please contact me for a date when we can celebrate your child&#8217;s summer birthday. \u00a0If your child&#8217;s birthday has already and you missed sending in cookies or cupcakes for their day and would still like to do so, please contact me and I&#8217;ll see what I can arrange.<\/p>\n<p>Friday is our Moments with Mom. \u00a0I hope you can join us. \u00a09:00-9:45 ish .<\/p>\n<p>Thursday, May 18-Greenfield Village Class Field Trip<\/p>\n<p>Lots going on and many wonderful things to celebrate as we move through these days.<\/p>\n<p>Any questions&#8230;please catch me on Monday. \u00a0I will not be here tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>READING-MOTHERS!!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>WRITING-MOTHERS<\/p>\n<p>SPELLING-<strong>come \u00a0us \u00a0bed \u00a0fed \u00a0led \u00a0red \u00a0wed \u00a0sled \u00a0shed \u00a0shred<\/strong>=10 Words<\/p>\n<p>MATH-<strong>Inequalities \u00a0<\/strong>&lt; \u00a0&gt; \u00a0=<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy your weekend and thank you again for my board, the flowers and watching my class during the luncheon for the Teachers. \u00a0Lovely.<\/p>\n<p>P.S. \u00a0Since I won&#8217;t be here tomorrow, I gave them their weekly spelling test today. \u00a0Surprise! \u00a0Most got 100%. \u00a0If they missed words it was due to incorrect letters&#8230;bad (bab) \u00a0 lad (lab) \u00a0 I discussed this a lot with them throughout the week. \u00a0So, gentle reminders during your daily practice of the words to write the correct letters. \u00a0Have them practice writing the words, which will help them see what they are writing. \u00a0Are all the letters going in the correct direction?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few things before I post next week&#8217;s plans&#8230; Mon-Fri my class will be leading the entire school in reciting &#8220;The Pledge of Allegiance!&#8221; \u00a0I will send a different group of 5 down to the office in the morning. \u00a0They are excited about this special moment.
