Many many thanks to each of the readers! \u00a0The kids always enjoy having their parent\/grandparent read to them. \u00a0Thank you again. \u00a0(One of my daughters teaches first grade on the west side of the state and every year she always puts out an offer to her families to be a guest reader. \u00a0Each year she has 1-2 parents who offer to read. \u00a0This year I had 28 readers in here. \u00a0A couple were parents of former students of mine and their kids don’t even attend Howard anymore! \u00a0The kids are at Bryant or DHS. \u00a0Isn’t that a wonderful show of the value of reading!)<\/p>\n

READING- We will finish our Unit about\u00a0Plants. \u00a0<\/strong>Our focus will be “What is in your Garden?”<\/em><\/p>\n

WRITING-Descriptive writing (writing with\u00a0adjectives)<\/em> about a flower.<\/p>\n

SPELLING-“it” family \u00a0 \u00a0 bit \u00a0hit \u00a0fit \u00a0kit \u00a0lit pit slit \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 red \u00a0yellow \u00a0blue \u00a0<\/strong>(color words to be used when writing about the flowers)<\/p>\n

MATH-Function Machines \u00a0(You’ll see some examples of these coming home next week.)<\/p>\n
