\u00a0I&#8217;m sorry that I didn&#8217;t get the names of the other 2 readers but here are their plans after next year&#8217;s graduation&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The young man on the far left wants to be a Marine Biologist. \u00a0Alex wants to be an astronaut and the reader on the right wants to play for the NFL. \u00a0It is so gratifying to see these people and hear of their future plans. \u00a0Thank you to these players for giving up their class time to come and read to us and encourage READING!!<\/p>\n<p>Th last picture is the Kindergarteners vs. DHS Football Players. \u00a0The tallest player is a former student of mine, Zane Berry<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>READING-We will continue with\u00a0<strong><em>Informational Reading<\/em><\/strong> as we begin our next unit &#8211;<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">PLANTS<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our focus will be\u00a0<strong>trees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The kids are very interested in learning new facts and I hope you are enjoying learning along with them.<\/p>\n<p>WRITING-We will be writing about\u00a0<strong>trees<\/strong>. \u00a0This past week we have been working with\u00a0<em>adjectives<\/em> ( words that describe nouns) and the students are using them quite well in their writing. \u00a0We will write about\u00a0<strong>trees<\/strong>and use\u00a0<em>adjectives\u00a0<\/em>to describe the\u00a0<strong>trees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SPELLING-SUPER FANTASTIC JOB WITH THE SPELLING THIS WEEK!!!!!!Keep up the daily practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>gap \u00a0cap \u00a0lap \u00a0tap \u00a0nap \u00a0flap \u00a0 little \u00a0 down \u00a0we\u00a0<\/strong>=9 words<\/p>\n<p>MATH- Geometry \u00a0 \u00a0 I&#8217;m off to the store this weekend to get seeds, soil, and cups (for the Reading ,Writing, and Science) AND PLAYDOH, marshmallows, gum drops, toothpicks for our Math unit. \u00a0We will be building 2-D and 3-D shapes. \u00a0Fun days in here. \u00a0We also will be talking\/reviewing about\u00a0<strong>attributes\u00a0<\/strong>(tall, short, thick, thin, color. shape, size) \u00a0Ask them to hide something and then describe that item to you, using <strong>attributes<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0of the item. \u00a0they like this game.<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE-Seeds and Living and Non-Living things<\/p>\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES-I am finishing the Assessment on the students. \u00a0All of them are doing exceedingly well.<\/p>\n<p>On a personal note, I am so proud of these people. \u00a0They are just blossoming into good students AND responsible, kind people. \u00a0I truly enjoy every day with them and miss them on the weekends. \u00a0They are my world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a great weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you to our Guest Readers!
