\u00a0I hope your weekend is warm and calm. \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0I have my daughter, son-in-law and 3 granddaughters staying with us due to power outage. \u00a0Lots of fun!!!<\/p>\n<p>If traveling to relatives to stay warm, please drive carefully.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what next week looks like&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>READING-\u00a0<strong>HOW WEATHER AFFECTS US<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WRITING-Informational Writing, so&#8230;.We will make a\u00a0<em><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Book Report<\/span>\u00a0about BEARS. \u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>PHONICS- We will be talking about <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">nouns<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">adjectives<\/span>\u00a0(words that modify nouns, describe nouns)<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, I will tie these in with our weekly topic. \u00a0For example,\u00a0<strong>bear<\/strong> is the noun. \u00a0Now describe the bear (adjective)&#8230;&#8221;huge, furry, 4 legged, vicious&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0You can play with these words at home.<\/p>\n<p>I also will be working with\u00a0<strong>rhyme.<\/strong> \u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Next Wednesday&#8217;s homework is to bring in 2 small things that\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>rhyme. \u00a0ie cat\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and a\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>hat\/bat<\/strong> \u00a0Please wait until next Wednesday to bring in these items.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>SPELLING WORDS-&#8220;<strong>un&#8221;<\/strong> chunk \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<strong>run \u00a0bun \u00a0fun \u00a0 sun \u00a0up \u00a0help \u00a0is it in \u00a0 9 words this week.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please help your child every night with these words. \u00a0Although I work with these words every day in here, support on the homefront is greatly appreciated. \u00a0It also helps with their reading and writing. \u00a010-15 minutes each day will help a lot. \u00a0It also shows them that school is important to you too.<\/p>\n<p>SOCIAL STUDIES-I will be assessing them all week on maps.<\/p>\n<p>MATH-Base 10 blocks and Measurement.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great, warm, weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOTS to talk about this morning&#8230;wind, no power, staying at relatives houses, candles, games, haircut, \u00a0cold temperatures in the house, have to eat out at restaurants (&#8220;and I like my mom&#8217;s cooking better than the restaurant&#8217;s cooking&#8221;), pets are cold, and the others who have power don&#8217;t understand the confusion!
