READING-We will begin Unit 7\u00a0WEATHER. \u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Our weekly theme will be\u00a0Kinds of \u00a0Weather.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n WRITING-What else…we’ll write about different kinds of weather, our favorite type of weather, what constitutes that weather, etc \u00a0You can begin this conversation during the break.<\/p>\n Beginning, Middle, End\u00a0<\/em>will be revisited again. \u00a0Try this with stories that you read at home. \u00a0What happened\u00a0first? \u00a0<\/em>Middle of the story? \u00a0Last in the story?<\/em><\/p>\n MATH-Lots of “counting on from a given number.”<\/p>\n SCIENCE-Water!! \u00a0Waterproof? \u00a0Why? \u00a0Why not? \u00a0Try this at home too<\/p>\n SPELLING WORDS-Please help your child study these words.<\/strong> \u00a0Have them write<\/span>\u00a0the words. \u00a0All letters must be written correctly. \u00a0If not, the word is incorrect. \u00a0For example, today several folks missed “jet” because the lower case\u00a0j<\/strong> was written above the line. \u00a0Also, some wrote it going in the wrong direction. \u00a0Same thing with “for” \u00a0“f”\u00a0<\/strong>and ‘r”\u00a0<\/strong>were backwards. \u00a0That’s why it is important to have the student\u00a0write\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>the words so that you\/they can check each letter.<\/p>\n We will be working with the ‘ig”<\/strong> family. \u00a0(MAKE SURE THE\u00a0g<\/strong> HOOKS BELOW THE LINE! \u00a0ALSO CHECK THAT THE b and d ARE GOING IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION)<\/p>\n pig \u00a0big \u00a0 dig \u00a0are \u00a0what \u00a0and \u00a0rain \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Thank you for sharing your children with me. \u00a0Every day they bring me such joy!<\/p>\n Enjoy your week.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Wow…what a fun week! \u00a0Lots of celebrating and learning too. \u00a0Here’s to a week off and then back at more learning.
