HO HO HO We&#8217;ll still have our weekly READING, WRITING, AND MATH, but we&#8217;ll be doing it different ways. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>READING-We&#8217;ll finish Unit 4-<em><strong>FOOD.<\/strong><\/em> \u00a0We&#8217;ll talk about\u00a0<em><strong>Food Traditions<\/strong><\/em> so you can begin that conversation this weekend. \u00a0Talk about what\u00a0<strong>food traditions<\/strong> your family has. \u00a0Turkey for Thanksgiving, Grandma&#8217;s cheese soup for New Year&#8217;s dinner, red and green Rice Krispies treats for Santa, etc.<\/p>\n<p>LETTERS-<strong>F f \u00a0 G g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WORDS-<strong>Make \u00a0make \u00a0Help \u00a0help<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MATH-The kids are really enjoying our time with calculators!! \u00a0WOW! \u00a0( I found the calculators this summer at a warehouse&#8230;they were going to throw them away, needed the space. \u00a0I&#8217;ve been looking for a class set with a big screen for my little ones and came across these. \u00a0I&#8217;m so happy and the kids are having fun trying to beat me at our calculator time.)<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be using the calculators and they will be in Math Word Stations. \u00a0Yesterday I taught them &#8220;Top-It.&#8221; \u00a0You can play it at home&#8230;all you need is a deck of cards, minus the Joker. \u00a0Ask your student how to play. \u00a0They should know. \u00a0I also brought out the Dominoes-I&#8217;ve got some GREAT strategists in here! \u00a0Excellent thinkers!<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE-We will begin\u00a0<em><strong>Push and Pull.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>F.Y.I&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday will be our class party. \u00a0The homeroom moms have, once again, done an excellent job of contacting parents to donate certain items. \u00a0Sorry parents&#8230;the party is just for the kids. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p>Look for a\u00a0<em><strong>Time Line\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>for your child to complete during the break. \u00a0This is part of our Social Studies Unit. \u00a0I will send it on Thursday, along with December Book Reading List.<\/p>\n<p>Friday will be our All-School Sing-A-Long. \u00a0The student body will meet in the gym for a sing-a-long and some students\/parents will be having their hair cut to donate to Children With Hair Loss. \u00a0We have done this for many years and it is a wonderful event. \u00a0A few years ago, one of my sons-in-law was diagnosed with cancer and lost his hair during all of his treatments and radiation. \u00a0His hair has never really come back in and, although he never mentions it to us, we know it bothers him. \u00a0So, I could only imagine what hair loss might be for a child.<\/p>\n<p>We will NOT\u00a0be going outside for recess next week so you can leave the snow pants at home if you&#8217;d like.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy the snow!!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are SOOOO excited in here for Santa to arrive and it is wonderful! \u00a0I love being with the kids as they anticipate his arrival and the joy and happiness that he will bring. \u00a0I hope you are enjoying these days as well.
