Fall is here! \u00a0Can you believe it’s already the last week of September? \u00a0Time sure flies by way too fast!<\/p>\n
Here’s next week at a glance…<\/p>\n
Since this is week 3 of our first unit, we will review concepts, words, and lessons, from weeks 1 and 2.<\/p>\n
READING: We’ll read a story called\u00a0Jazz Baby.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0It’s a favorite with the Kindergarteners-lots of rhythm when I read it.<\/p>\n In reading the story, as with all stories that I read, I am looking for ORAL LANGUAGE, PREDICTIONS, \u00a0AND COMPREHENSION.<\/p>\n WORDS: We will revisit\u00a0I\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0\u00a0Can\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0\u00a0can<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n WRITING: In class we will have a Shared Writing where we will complete a sentence.<\/p>\n For the District, we will begin our first WRITING PROMPT. \u00a0This writing will be a Narrative Piece (telling a story.)<\/p>\n MATH: Numbers Numbers Numbers!! \u00a0“What number comes after 13?’ (14) \u00a0“How do we make a 13?’<\/p>\n (1 & 3) \u00a0“How many buttons are on your jacket?” \u00a0“Write the next 5 numbers after 6.” “How many shoes are in your closet?” \u00a0“How many steps to get to the car?” “How many stop signs from our house to Kroger?”<\/p>\n They also will be finishing NWEA Reading and completing NWEA Math on the computers.<\/p>\n I think our Specials Schedule is complete. \u00a0It looks like my kids will have<\/p>\n Gym-Monday & Friday<\/p>\n Music-Tuesday & Thursday<\/p>\n Art-Thursday & Friday<\/p>\n Media-Wednesday<\/p>\n Library (for book exchange)-Tuesdays<\/p>\n Another busy, happy week coming up. \u00a0They have done a lot of writing this week. \u00a0That means saying the words we write, listening for the sounds our mouths are making, identifying the letter to go with the sounds and THEN learning how to write the letter correctly! \u00a0Please take time every day to let your child read their work to you. \u00a0It keeps you involved with what they are learning and doing during their days in here.<\/p>\n Thank you for sharing your children with me. \u00a0I love being with them.<\/p>\n Enjoy your weekend!<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n “Never regret a day in your life:<\/em><\/p>\n good days give you happiness,<\/em><\/p>\n bad days give you experience,<\/em><\/p>\n worst days give you lessons,<\/em><\/p>\n and best days give you memories.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Fall is here! \u00a0Can you believe it’s already the last week of September? \u00a0Time sure flies by way too fast!
