{"id":1505,"date":"2016-04-29T13:07:46","date_gmt":"2016-04-29T17:07:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/?p=1505"},"modified":"2016-04-29T13:10:51","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T17:10:51","slug":"week-of-may-2-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/smiths\/2016\/04\/29\/week-of-may-2-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of May 2, 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can hardly believe that I am writing MAY! \u00a0Time sure goes fast around here!<\/p>\n<p>READING-Unit 10, final unit, is all about\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>I Know A Lot!<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0This week&#8217;s theme is\u00a0<strong>Show What You Know.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>READING COMPREHENSION STRATEGY-Monitor Comprehension:Reread<\/p>\n<p>READING COMPREHENSION SKILL: Use Illustrations to support reading and Writing<\/p>\n<p>SPELLING-\u00a0We will be working with the\u00a0<strong>__ ad\u00a0<\/strong>chunk. \u00a0<strong>bad \u00a0lad \u00a0had \u00a0mad \u00a0glad \u00a0Dad (need \u00a0to have a Capital Letter at the beginning) \u00a0me \u00a0where<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MATH-We will continue with Fluency with addition up to 20. \u00a0You can work with this at home&#8230;it does NOT need to be written out..just have fun playing mental games with it in the car, or out for a walk, or while you&#8217;re waiting for older brother&#8217;s soccer game, or dance rehearsal to be over, or big sister&#8217;s concert, or&#8230; \u00a0Same convenient opportunities with practicing Spelling Words. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Spelling, the students are doing very well with their Spelling Words. \u00a0Most are getting 100% on their weekly tests. \u00a0Thanks for the support at home. \u00a0They are so pleased and proud when they see their score and the sticker.<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE-The 3 states of matter&#8230;Solid, liquid, gas<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Monday-My students will be taking their final MATH NWEA Assessment. \u00a0Next Monday will be Reading.
