Shhh…I think Spring is finally here! \u00a0It’s lovely to be outside without wearing heavy coats and hearing the birds sing and smelling the flowers after a rain. I hope you can enjoy some of this sunshine and goodness this weekend.<\/p>\n
READING-ANIMALS NOW AND THEN<\/strong><\/span> will be our week’s theme. \u00a0We’ll focus on the dinosaurs.<\/p>\n READING COMPREHENSION STRATEGY-Ask Questions<\/p>\n READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS- Distinguish between Fantasy and Reality and Using Text Features<\/p>\n WRITING-We will continue to write good, descriptive sentences, using an informational source. \u00a0(You remember writing like this when you were in Kindergarten, right??!!) \u00a0My students are doing a fantastic job with their writing! \u00a0I tell them to “write 3 sentences about something that a fish has” and they play a game with me as to how many sentences, more than 3, that they write. \u00a0The sentences are good, too!!<\/p>\n SPELLING-Wow…another area of great success! \u00a0Almost all of the students are scoring 100% on the weekly spelling tests! \u00a0Way to go parents! \u00a0The kids benefit from your home involvement and support.<\/p>\n This week’s words are: \u00a0\u00a0 rap \u00a0tap \u00a0cap clap \u00a0help \u00a0earth \u00a0has \u00a0she + 2 “cold words.”<\/strong><\/p>\n SCIENCE-Dinosaurs and Earth Day<\/p>\n Looking ahead…<\/p>\n Week of April 25 \u00a0 District Wide Writing Assessment \u00a0This will be an Informational Piece of Writing to be completed over 3 days. \u00a0Please help your child be well rested, eat a good breakfast, and be at school on time.<\/p>\n Week of May 2 \u00a0 \u00a0 NWEA testing<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Thank you for all you are doing on the home front. \u00a0I notice your “handiwork” and they students benefit.<\/p>\n Enjoy your weekend.<\/p>\n Mrs. Smith<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Shhh…I think Spring is finally here! \u00a0It’s lovely to be outside without wearing heavy coats and hearing the birds sing and smelling the flowers after a rain.
