I’m sorry about last week’s post…I must have forgotten to hit “Publish” after I finished writing it so it never got to you. \u00a0So sorry about that!<\/p>\n

Unit 9 of AMAZING CREATURES is up for next week. \u00a0Our theme is\u00a0The Amazing Ocean. \u00a0<\/strong><\/em>We’ll discuss what kind of animals live in the ocean, what kind of animal has fins, a shell, claws, tentacles…<\/p>\n

WRITING-Descriptive Sentences\u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0Students will be writing about different fish and using descriptive words. \u00a0Students should be writing at least 3 sentences by now on a given topic.<\/p>\n

For example, “Whales are huge animals that live in the ocean.<\/p>\n

Whales have gills.<\/p>\n

Whales have a blow hole.”<\/p>\n

If you have any books that you would like to share on this topic, please send them in with your child.<\/p>\n

WORDS- has \u00a0look \u00a0fish \u00a0pot<\/span> \u00a0cot<\/span> \u00a0hot<\/span> \u00a0got\u00a0<\/span> plot<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

***Please note*** Kindergarten Spelling words will now be 8 practiced words (HOT WORDS) and 2 unknown words (COLD WORDS-from the word chunk family of the week.) \u00a0As you can see, we will be working with the\u00a0“ot”<\/strong> word chunk family next week. \u00a0To get ready for the “COLD WORDS”, use the “ot” chunk and form new words. \u00a0Have your student spell the words. \u00a0This will help solidify the word chunk family for the week.<\/p>\n

LETTERS-X \u00a0x \u00a0V \u00a0v<\/strong><\/p>\n

SCIENCE-We will continue with our Plant Observations and recording our findings. \u00a0We are Scientists!<\/p>\n

We also will begin discussing Earth Day. \u00a0Look for a project to come home about Earth Day.<\/p>\n
